Celia Wallace Obituary Celia Marie (Waldie) Wallace 90, resident of Brainerd died peacefully at Good Samaritan Society - Bethany in Brainerd, Minnesota Saturday, April 23, 2016. Celia was born December 25, 1925 in Marion, North Dakota to Clayton and Monica Waldie. She married James J. Wallace on June 3, 1947 in Valley City, North Dakota. Celia worked over 30 years as a RN for Brainerd Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her sons; Brian of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jeff (Laurie) of North Carolina, daughter Gail (Gordy) Johnson of Nisswa, Minnesota, grandchildren; Krista Johnson, Nicole Peterson and Jamie Wallace; brother Thomas Waldie of Marion, North Dakota and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Wallace; her son Alan Wallace; parents Clayton and Monica Waldie; brother Richard Waldie and sisters Frances Webber and Jeannie Harr; Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Friday, April 29, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be 5 - 8pm, with a prayer service at 7:30pm Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will continue the hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
