Lloyd Kummet Obituary Lloyd G. Kummet, 87, of Brainerd, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at his home. Lloyd was born January 8, 1925 in Pierz to Bernard and Christine (Thielen) Kummet. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School and St. Cloud Business School. In 1951, he and Eino Freeman started the accounting firm which is today known as Kummet, Larson, Bluth and Co. In 1950, he married Rita Hollenhorst and raised 4 children in the Brainerd lakes area. He served as a trustee and founding member of St. Andrew's Church, served on the St. Francis School Foundation and was active in the Elks and Knights of Columbus. He loved traveling, music and dance, fishing and spending time at the lake with family and friends. He is survived by, son Rick (Deb) Kummet of Brainerd, daughters Beth (Rick) Fahlstedt of Centennial, CO and Jan (Jason) Splitt of Minneapolis, daughter-in-law Pat (Dennis) Kummet of Minneapolis, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and special friend Lorraine Bemis of Brainerd. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Rita, son Dennis and brother Eldred Kummet. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Monday, August 6, 2012 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4-7PM Sunday with parish prayers 7PM at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and at church Monday the hour before services. Memorials are preferred to St. Francis School Foundation or the charity of the family's choosing.
