Thomas Walsh Obituary
Thomas E. Walsh, 90, Brainerd Lakes Area resident, died at his home Monday, November 7, 2016. He was born in St. Paul May 13, 1926 to Maurice and Pearl (Mandeville) Walsh. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Tom was a Past Faithful Navigator for the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He had been employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd.
Surviving by wife Pat, daughter Colleen (Jeff) Allen, sons Steve (Dana) Walsh, Jim (Marcy) Walsh, and Tom (Melinda) Walsh, grandchildren Ian, Tara, Sonny, Julian, Cullen, and Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Walsh and sisters, Peg Thomas and Patricia Walsh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 11 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Military honors by Deerwood American Legion will follow the service. Burial will be in MN State Veterans Cemetery Monday, November 14th. Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday with Knights of Columbus Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd. Visitation will continue the hour before services Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Francis Church Capital Campaign.
