Alvin Guck Obituary Alvin Guck, age 97, of Brainerd, died on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Essentia Health St. Josephs Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather for one hour prior to Mass. Interment will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Al was the 9th of 12 children born to Frank and Rose Guck of Little Falls, Minnesota. He was a proud Army Veteran who served in Alaska after the end of World War II. In 1956 he married Martha Kinder. Al was a carpenter and worked in construction for most of his life. He and Marty operated the Al-Mar Motel, located south of Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) in the 1970's. Al is survived by his two daughters, Linda (John) Sybilrud and Brenda Larson; grandchildren, Leah (Josh) Nelson, Alyssa Sybilrud and Luke Sybilrud; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Isabella Nelson; and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha and 12 siblings.
