Anthony Ruffcorn Obituary Anthony Ruffcorn, 85, of Merrifield, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, April 4, 2025. A Celebration of Tonys Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2025, at Ossipee Community Church (12799 County Road 109 Merrifield, MN 56465). Family and friends are invited to gather one hour before the services and stay for a luncheon to follow. Anthony was born July 28, 1939, in Wyoming, Minn, the son of Archie and Clara (Johnson) Ruffcorn. Tony knew early that a life with his head in the books wasnt going to work. He wanted to use his hands and build things and he did: 30 years at Forester Boats, Inc. in Wyoming before working at Vintage Boats on Gull Lake after moving to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1991. In his spare time, he built fiberglass canoes to sell to friends and neighbors. He was not one to stay idle, so he also tended an acre garden that produced more green beans, beets, and other vegetables than the family could eat. He also hunted deer and other wild game. Tony and his boys also enjoyed fishing on the water or the ice, he loved to fish. His lifelong passion for fly fishing intensified even more later in life. Tony was stubborn and smart. And if there was a job needing to be done, there was a job worth doing well. He always gave his best and it was evident in the way his lawn was maintained and how his garage floors gleamed. He was a smooth talker who never needed a reason to make a new friend or share a story. He cared about what he did and who he met. His family will forever cherish his love and devotion. Tony will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Judy; sons, Dale (Katie) Johnson, Jeffry (Luciana) Ruffcorn, and Bob (Kristin Dronen) Ruffcorn; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son; grandson, Anthony; parents; and eight siblings. Memorials are preferred to Ossipee Community Church in Merrifield.
