Obituary

Barbara Flicek Obituary Barbara "Bobbie" Flicek, 81, of Fort Ripley, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Private services will be held. Bobbie was born January 13, 1940, in Park River, ND, the daughter of Allan and Isabella (Mrachek) Bemis. After graduating from high school, she married Manny Flicek. The couple raised four children in the Big Lake area before retiring to Fort Ripley. Bobbie was the epitome of a "Mama Bear". She fiercely loved and protected her children. She taught them to advocate for their own families and cherish every moment together. Bobbie enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader for many years as well as being active in 4-H. Her husbands love of horses created an opportunity for Bobbie to be the secretary and announcer at the Elk River Saddle Club. She was an artist who enjoyed sketching. She will be greatly missed and is surived by her children, Toni (John) Wills, Ricky (Nanci) Flicek, Jamie (Christine) Flicek, and Stacie (Jerry) Erickson; grandchildren, Mandy (Nathan Summer), Isabel, Gabi, Jessie, Trisha, Jon, Mindy (Brandon Gafke), Samantha, Marqus, James, Manny, Maddox and Addison; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Tom) Berkner; goddaughter, Cindy (Scott) Frane; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Manny; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Dillan; sisters, Bunny Bjerk and JoAnn Bemis; and brother-in-law, Kenny Bjerk. Bobbies family is grateful for the care provided her from Heartland Hospice, Dr. Kristi Gebhardt, and the Dialysis Unit at Essentia Health in Brainerd.
