Barbara Joan Jaeche, age 85, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Edgewood Senior Living, Brainerd.

She was born on May 14, 1940, to Lewis and Catherine (McNaught) Becker in Los Angeles, California. Barbara lived a life filled with love, beauty, and care for others. She grew up in northern Minnesota and graduated from Duluth East High School. She later attended Macalester College, where she met the man who would become her husband. Together, they built a life centered on family and love, raising two children and making homes in several communities across southeast Minnesota and the Twin Cities area. Of all the places they lived, Alexandria became home the longest and held a special place in her heart.

Barbara devoted much of her working life to roles that allowed her to care for others. She held several receptionist positions, including at a veterinary clinic- as she loved dogs. For a time, she also ran a home daycare, combining her nurturing spirit with her love for children.

She found her greatest joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She loved being near the lake, spending time outdoors, watching birds, and appreciating nature. If she wasn't living on a lake, she made sure there was a pool nearby. Barbara had a deep appreciation for beauty—she loved pretty things, music, and keeping her home welcoming and lovely. She never left the house without her make-up on and took pride in her appearance. Ice cream and chocolate were among her favorite treats and small joys.

Above all, Barbara will be remembered as loving, caring, and nurturing. Her warmth, attention to others, and gentle presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, Sheridan 'Jake' Jaeche; two children, Maureen (Steven) Bauer and Eric (Billie Jo) Jaeche; six grandchildren, Grant (Leah) Jeache, Hayley (Tyler) Hillman, Heather (Joe Harris) Jaeche, Joseph Bauer and Samantha Bauer; six great-grandchildren, William, Henry, Benjamin, and Emma Jaeche and Lily and Lilah Hillman; twin sister, Betty (Bill) McGovern and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ross (Sally) Becker.
