Barbara Nistler Obituary Barbara Jean Nistler, 77, of Brainerd, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Barbs family is planning a celebration for later this year. Barb was born in Princeton, MN, the only child of George and Betty (Marlow) Franklin, on June 11, 1947. After high school, Barb married Ron Barnett, and the couple was blessed with three children. After they divorced, Barb moved to Chimney Rock, CO, where she and her second husband, Dave Nistler, owned and operated a restaurant, gas station, and campground for many years. Barb enjoyed her time cooking and running the business, and later she ventured out on her own operating the Jerky Van, but nothing made her as happy as taking care of children. She proudly operated a daycare and never smiled brighter than when she was around her grandchildren. She loved teaching them new things, watching their games, and baking them sweets. She is missed by her children, Ryan (Lisa) Barnett, Jeffrey Barnett, and Kristi (Torance) Loftis; and grandchildren, Eric Barnett, Maddison (Kirk Johnson) Barnett, Kayliegh Barnett, Ethan Lofquist, Evan Loftis, and Deacan Loftis. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Jacob, and son-in-law, Greg Lofquist. Memorials are preferred to the family.
