Betty DeRosier Obituary Betty Lou DeRosier, age 81, died at Harmony House of Brainerd on Friday, December 15, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born January 26, 1936 in Little Falls, MN to the late Darrow and Hazel Harrison. She graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1954, moved to Granada Hills, CA where she worked as a computer programmer for RCA, until returning to Minnesota. On November 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Duwayne PeeWee DeRosier in Little Falls, MN. Together, Betty and PeeWee owned and operated The Canteen Supper Club from 1972-1976, and The Fort Steak House from 1969 until their retirement in 2002. Betty was a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Mathias Council of Catholic Women, Fort Ripley Mothers Club and American Legion Auxiliary Post 255. She enjoyed time with family and friends, sewing, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and dancing. Left to cherish her memory are children Dan (Maureen) Riles of Fort Ripley, Richard (Kathy) Riles of Brainerd, Shawn (Mike) Poppen of Royalton, and Michelle (Shane) Thompson of Fort Ripley; 8 grandchildren Stacey, Jennie, Donald, Casey, Joshua, Brynn, John, Elise, 2 great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her brother, Arthur Harrison, preceded her in death. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Mathias Catholic Church in St. Mathias Township with Father Daniel Weiske officiating. Burial will be in St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery following the service. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
