Betty Franks Obituary Betty Franks, age 68, of Motley died at her home on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born in Staples on October 21, 1952 to Christian and Myrtle (Buchholz) Bjerga. Betty graduated from Motley High School. She lived in Chicago, IL for some time prior to moving back to Minnesota where she worked as a waitress. Betty loved to play Bingo, Crosswords, and to spend time at the casino. She had a huge heart and her compassion could not be matched. She was understanding, always willing to listen, and lend a helping hand. These traits are part of what made her an amazing mother and grandmother, who found joy in being actively involved in the lives of her family members. Betty is survived by her children, Derek (Gary) Johnston, Erin Franks, and Christian Franks; grandchildren, Isaac, Ava and Stella Franks, Ricky Johnston, and Julian Franks Ambriz, and many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Christian; sister, Marilyn; mother, Myrtle; and grandson, Jaiden Franks. Arrangements are being completed by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
