Beverly (Koering) VanRuden Obituary Beverly Ann (Koering) VanRuden, age 78, formerly of Woodbury, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge, MN on March 1, 2022. Beverly was born in Brainerd, MN on April 3, 1943 to Clem and Viola (Holtkamp) Koering. She graduated from Washington High School in 1961 advancing her education by attending Edgewood College in Madison WI, St Catherines in St. Paul, MN and certification in cosmetology in Minneapolis prior to marriage in 1965. Beverly dedicated her working years to time at the University of Minnesota, an interior design company in St. Paul, working her own business in painting, refinishing, and wallcoverings. She also was an activitys director at Croixdale Senior Living in Bayport, MN. At Croixdale she enjoyed working with seniors sharing their life stories and experiences. In 1990 she married Dennis VanRuden and lived in Stillwater, MN. She cherished her life as a wife, mother and grandmother. Beverly lived in Marine on St. Croix, Brainerd, Stillwater and Woodbury, MN enjoying all the activities in the surrounding areas. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; father Clem Koering; mother Viola Koering; and sister Marilyn J. Koering. She is survived by her son Brennan (Rebecca) Cox; daughter Carolyn Dunn; granddaughter Sabrina Cox; and sister Susan Koering, residing in the lakes area. She loved spending many winters at her home in Sun City, AZ. Beverly was a wonderful cook, exquisite seamstress, quilter, and stain glass designer. She enjoyed gardening, golf, and the many years spent with family and friends at the family cabin on Pelican Lake. Genealogy or study of the family tree was also enjoyable to her. The family would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Allina Health Hospice for their care and compassion in a time of need. Beverly will be missed by all those who knew her and enjoyed her smiles and wit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the Mass. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be after the luncheon at Evergreen Cemetery.
