Bruce Isebrand Obituary On March 17, 2025 the heavens welcomed an amazing man, Bruce Isebrand. Bruce passed away peacefully at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND, with his wife and four daughters by his side, due to complications of pneumonia after a recent shoulder surgery. He will be greatly missed by many. Bruce Kent Isebrand was born on December 26, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to Merlin and Rosemary Isebrand. He and his brother Denny, spent many summers on family farms in Iowa with their cousins. After graduating from Wheaton High School in 1962, Bruce joined the Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1965. On May 14, 1966, He married Sharon Yvone Miller of Minneapolis, MN, in Brainerd. Bruce managed the local Scott Store before being transferred to Hibbing, MN, and later to Iowa City, IA, to set up new stores. In 1971, Bruce and Sharon returned to Brainerd, where he continued managing the Scott Store until 1976. From 1976 to 1999 Bruce and Sharon successfully owned and operated Capri Plastic Manufacturing Company. Bruce was a hard working man who always gave 110%. Upon retirement Bruce and Sharon spent several winters in Fort Myers, FL, where they enjoyed the warm weather, golf courses and many visits from family and friends. In 2021, they returned to Brainerd as full-time residents, cherishing time with their loved ones. Throughout their 58 years of marriage, Bruce and Sharon held the Lord first and were blessed with four daughters plus one: Lia Pearl (Mark), Sara Foster (Scott), Molly Rubbelke (good friend Daryl), and Katie Tretter (Garth), and Tonya Miller whom he considered just like a daughter. Over the years, their family grew, and Bruce became "papa" to sixteen grandchildren; Lia: Lindsay OBrien (John), Brexten Sipp (Golan), Emma, Asher, Olivia Hopkins (Chad), and Ivy. Sara: Meg Peters (Zach), Ian and Isaac (fiance Kelsey). Molly: Tyler, Emily, Blake and Jack. Katie: Tyler (Anna), Conner and Toni. They also had six great-grandchildren; Ora, Olive and Frances Sipp and Amelia, Cole and Emmett Tretter. To his family, he left a legacy of love that will never be forgotten. Bruce was a man of God and had a heart of gold. He always looked for the best in everyone. He was a dedicated husband, father, papa and friend to many. He enjoyed life to the fullest whether on the golf course, playing cards or spending time with his family. He also cherished the many hunting and fishing trips with his brother-in-law, nephews and cousins. Bruce was creative, thought outside the box, and left a lasting impression on many. He will be greatly missed by all, including his dog Ness, and the many birds and squirrels he enjoyed feeding. Those who knew Bruce will always remember his love and his signature thumbs up. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Rosemary Isebrand. He is survived by his wife Sharon, their daughters and families, and his brother Dennis Isebrand (Sarah) of Naples, FL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on March 27, 2025, at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a luncheon. Military funeral honors will be presented at 2:00 PM at Camp Ripley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at T2T.org.
