Carol Bentley Obituary Carol Ann Bentley, 89, of Nisswa, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at M Health Fairview University Medical Center East Bank Hospital. A Celebration of Carols Life will be held at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather starting at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. Carol was born November 25, 1933, in Brainerd, the daughter of William C. and Lillian M. (Anderson) DeRosier. She was raised in Fort Ripley and, when she was older, the family moved to Brainerd. Carol married James Bentley on February 19, 1954, and the couple was blessed with a daughter, Sandra. Carol enjoyed caring for her family and staying home until Sandra was in middle school. She then went to work for St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd where she spent nearly 30 years in the kitchen. Even after she and Jim retired in 1996, Carol liked to stay busy and spent many years helping at Gull Four Seasons Resort. Carol was a lifelong animal lover and was devoted to the many dogs she had through the years. She enjoyed playing the card game 500, working jigsaw puzzles, and flower gardening. Above all, Carol cherished "going to coffee" at Ganleys in Nisswa nearly every morning its where she chatted with friends and enjoyed breakfast. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sandra (Tom) Bentley Williams; step grandchildren, Gabriel Williams and Benjamin (Lisa) Williams; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and her sister, Elaine Nordquist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents; and siblings, Shirley Stowell, Rosemary Schultz, William "Bill" DeRosier, Judy Frink; and Jeanne Vogt. Carol loved dogs- so donations in her honor to Heartland Animal Rescue Team (H.A.R.T.) are appreciated. Alternatively, and if desired, Carol enjoyed fresh flowers so small arrangements for her Celebration of Life could be sent. No live plants please.
