Cathleen Lois Kennedy, lovingly known as Kay, was born October 11, 1925, in Hibbing, Minnesota, the daughter of Howard and Lavina (Senzeg) Kerr.

In 1946, Kay married Robert J. Kennedy, and together they built a life centered around family. They were blessed with five children.

Throughout her life, Kay filled two roles that seemed especially suited to her caring nature: mom and nurse. Whether caring for her own family or for others through her work, nurturing people came naturally to Kay.

She also had a creative side and enjoyed spending her time knitting, making cards, and painting. These hobbies gave her an opportunity to create, stay busy, and share a little piece of herself with those around her.

Kay passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 9, 2026.

Kay is survived by her sons, Kevin Kennedy and Tim (Kara) Kennedy; daughters, Dori Osborn, Lynnette (Gary) Alderman, and Lois (Jerry) Brown; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

Services held will be private.
