Celeste Marie
Gallant
Dec 12, 1951 — Oct 30, 2025
Celeste Gallant, age 73, of rural Brainerd passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday morning, October 30, 2025, at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples, Minnesota after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather for one hour prior.
Celeste was born on December 12, 1951, in Crookston, Minnesota to Donald Sr. and Sally (Skiba) Henry. She grew up in Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School in 1970.
Celeste was united in marriage to the love of her life, Norm Gallant, September 20,1975. They made their home in Staples, Minnesota where they raised three children. Son, Norm Jr was born in 1976 and the couple welcomed twin daughters Tina and Ann in 1978. The biggest shock of Celeste's (and Norm's) life was after Tina was born and the Doctor said, "I don't know how to tell you this, but there is another one coming." Norm and Celeste liked to laugh about the surprise twins in their life.
Celeste was a devoted mother and wife and worked a career as a polisher and later the office manager of Precision Polishing in Staples when her kids were in school. She retired in 2009. She was selfless and valued others above self, caring for her mother and father as they battled cancer, a trait she passed to her children. Norm and Celeste built their dream home on South Long Lake shortly before they retired where they spent their time enjoying lake and family time together.
Celeste was an avid gardener who filled their properties in both Staples and Brainerd with beautiful flower gardens as well as vegetable gardens. She enjoyed sewing and crafting and made many of her families clothing as they grew including her daughter's bridesmaids dresses when they were married. She was a hard worker and always kept her house, gardens and self immaculate. She loved time with family, especially her granddaughters and she and Norm enjoyed as much time as possible with them.
She will be deeply missed by Norm Sr of Brainerd, son Norm (Mandy) Gallant, Wadena, twin daughters Tina (Donavon) Daiker, Brainerd, and Ann (Erik) Mundt of Britton, South Dakota, granddaughters, Emily Daiker, St. Louis Park, Grace Gallant, Wadena, Madelyn Gallant (Wadena), and Lily and Ella Mundt of Britton, South Dakota, as well as family dog, Rambler.
She is preceded in death by parents Donald and Sally Henry and survived by her husband Norm, sisters Mickey (Merle Jr.) Gallant, Brainerd, and Robbie (Lee) Danks, Plymouth, and brothers, Randy Henry, Siren, Wisconsin, Donald Henry Jr., St. Cloud, and Patrick Henry, Minneapolis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Her family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Lakewood Care Center, especially those in the Memory Care Unit, where Celeste spent the last two and a half years and received excellent care and love from all who worked there.
