Charles Flickinger Obituary Charles Andy Flickinger, 84, passed away on March 10, 2025, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Charles Andy Flickinger was born March 3, 1941, to Karmen and Mary Flickinger of Marple Ridge (Braham), MN. They later moved to Coeur dAlene, Idaho, only to return to Motley, MN in 1959. In 1966, Charles married Kathy Harvey and had 4 children, Terry, Tena, Tony, and Tammy. Charles and Kathy separated in 1995 In 2000, Charles married Bernadette Lind with her 5 Children Kodeiy, Rachell, Brandon, Barbara, and Brittany. Charles farmed all his life with the exception of his time serving in the Army, until he decided that he had done it long enough. He worked at Moreys Fish Company for several years and finished his working career at Trident Seafoods. After retiring from farming, he was still involved by frequent trips to the field on 4-wheeler to supervise with the occasional nap on the 4-wheeler. Over the years Charles was involved in many community activities. He played Town Baseball in his younger years, League softball at the church and with the Dower Lake League. Charles was involved in the Royal Ranger program at the Casino Assembly of God Church while his children were young, and in his later years he taught Sunday school and served as an elder at the Oylen Church. Charles enjoyed fishing his whole life and would go with anyone or take anyone, especially grandchildren. He loved to talk about the first musky he caught but would often be found sleeping at the back of the boat. He enjoyed hunting in Colorado with family and neighbors for many years. Deer Hunting at home was treated as a national holiday as all the family was together. Charles was especially fond of the annual ALS fundraiser rides with Riders of Hope. He talked about them for weeks before and weeks after. He especially enjoyed the campfires and meals with everyone gathered around. Charles is survived by his wife Bernadette, 9 children, 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Olyen Church near Staples with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to Services at the Church. Burial will be in the Motley City Cemetery.
