Chris Holm Obituary Chris M. Holm, 54, of Brainerd, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Josephs Medical Center. We will celebrate Chris life with a gathering of family and friends from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Chris was born December 16, 1965, in Brainerd, the son of Otis and Sheila (Stensrude) Holm. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, played basketball and football while attending Brainerd Community College and participated in football and track while earning his bachelors degree from Upper Iowa University. For the past 30 years, Chris worked for Ascensus as a retirement plan supervisor. Chris was an avid trapper with an extensive collection. He enjoyed passing his knowledge of trapping on to others. Chris was a fan of sports and could often be found attending a local softball game to cheer on a co-workers child or just to enjoy the friendly competition. Chris had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand. His encouragement and support were consistently offered without judgement. He will be greatly missed and is so loved. He is survived by his son, Thomas (Emily Kadlec) Fairbanks; dad, Otis Holm; brother, Craig (Lisa Haberman) Holm; sister, Cindy (Brad) Hanson; nieces and nephews, Nathan and Allison Holm, and Meigan (Eric) Wills; and great niece and nephew, Olivia and Drake Wills. He was preceded in death by his mom, Sheila. Memorials should be directed to the family.
