Daniel Palmer Obituary Daniel LeRoy Palmer, 65, of Brainerd, passed away at his home on Friday, September 3, 2021. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. The celebration will continue at Danny's and Tyra's Home Friday evening. Dan was born December 8, 1955, in Brainerd, the son of Herbert and Irma (Johnson) Palmer. After he finished school, he worked for many years at Clow Stamping as a machine operator. In 2002, he married Tyra Palmer and gained a family of his own. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He was creative and liked to work with wood. Most of all, Dan loved to sit by the bonfire especially if a few sodas spiked with hops and barley were involved. He will be missed by his wife, Tyra; children, Kate (Mycal) Payne and James (Erinn) Hoyt; ten grandchildren; siblings, Robin (Ted) Prescott and Mike (Isis) Palmer; mother-in-law, Mary Maust; best friends, Randy, Jon, and Dale; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
