Darlene Carlson Obituary Darlene Carlson, of Brainerd, passed away Monday, September 11th, after losing her courageous four year battle with cancer. Darlene was born on March 31, 1939 to Foy and Sophie (Olson) Johnson. After her retirement from St. Joseph's medical Center, Darlene enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandsons, and entertaining family and friends at her home in town and her home in the country. Darlene is survived by her children, Darnel, Lisa and Michael; grandsons Anthony and Chris; brother, Wallace (Ellen) Johnson; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Foy and Sophie Johnson; brothers, Watson, Raymond, Donald, and William Johnson; sisters, Lucille Hendershot and Louise Johnson. The family would like give special thanks to St. Croix Hospice for their care of Darlene. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Mark Skinner officiating. Visitation will begin the hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
