Dave Evenson was born on September 17, 1953, in Grafton, North Dakota, the son of Eugene and Donna (Momerak) Evenson.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 from 1-4:00 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.

Dave loved to hunt, fish and tell stories. Despite having a degree in welding, Dave worked hard in the grocery business for 47 years and was a member of the Minneapolis Retail Meat Cutters and Food Handlers Union. Behind the tough guy façade, he was a man not devoid of emotion and could occasionally release those suppressed feelings when the occasion warranted. His humor and kind heart will be sorely missed.

Dave was found in his home on May 22, 2026, having passed away from natural causes.

Dave is survived by his son, Jason; daughter, Nicole (Dan); granddaughter, Shayna (Cody) and Miya; and great grandsons, Oliver and Harrison; brothers, Paul (Linda), Mark (Dave), Matt (Deb); sister-in-law, Linda (Jim); and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Donna; stepfather, Marv; and brothers, Dan and Jim.
