Della Mimm Obituary Della Mae Mimm, age 91, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on March 25, 2025, at Essentia Health St. Joseph's Medical Center. Della was born on February 11, 1934, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Woodrow and Dora (Simmons) Smith. She had a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures. Della loved to travel and never passed up a good shopping trip. She took great pride in her beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, and she found peace in music, often playing her organ at home. Della is survived by daughters Arlene Koshenina, Lynda Collins, Wanda Mertens, Mary (Randy) Moeser, and Joanne (James) Munsch; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Jensen, Patricia Pint, Ruth Hardy, and Phylis Tilley, and her brother, Donald Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mimm, and her brothers Kenneth Avarill, Leroy Smith, and Keith Smith; one great-granddaughter; one great-great grandson. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Pillager, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, and a luncheon will be served immediately afterward back at the church. Della will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
