Donna Johnson Obituary Donna Fern (Denny) Johnson, age 91, of Brainerd, went home with Jesus on December 12, 2023. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather for one hour prior to the service for visitation. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Donna was born on March 19, 1932 in Hewitt, MN to Frank and Hazel Denny. She attended school in Hewitt, MN. Donna married Lloyd W. Johnson on March 3, 1951, they spent one year at Camp Polk, LA they then moved to Duluth and started their family of four boys who were all born there. They then moved to Brainerd in 1960 where they opened Johnsons Dairy Store until 1969. Donna then became the manager of Holsum Bakery Thrift Store until she retired in 1997. After retirement, they wintered in Edinburg, TX and were camp hosts of Lum Park in Brainerd in the summers until March of 2006. Donna was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, she was also a member of Auxiliaries of the VFW, American Legion and Brainerd Eagles Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Ruby; her loving husband, Lloyd; several siblings and two granddaughters, Melissa and Amanda. She is survived by her four sons, Dennis (Wendy), Darrel (Colleen), Dan (Jana) and Dave (Laurette); also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
