Donna Marie Smith, 92, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at BeeHive Homes Assisted Living in Moorhead. A Celebration of Donna's Life will be announced shortly.

Donna was born August 19, 1933, in Brainerd, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Caldwell) Whitted. She is a 1951 graduate of Washington High School in Brainerd. She was united in marriage to Harold Smith and stayed home to raise their two children. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds as well as tending her garden.

She will be missed by her children, Karen (Gary) Taverna and Brian (Rhonda) Smith; grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Britni Rivers, Tyler Taverna and Andrew Taverna; five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Alan Whitted. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold.

Donna's family is grateful for the care and love Donna received at The Beehive Homes Assisted Living in Moorhead as well as the Hospice Team of the Red River Valley.

A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service and stay for a luncheon that will follow. Private interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
