Donna Stephens Obituary Donna E. Stephens, age 104, of Brainerd passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society Bethany, Brainerd. Private family services will take place at a later date. Donna was born on February 13, 1919 the sixth child of eight, to Omer and Katherine (Denis) Burton. She graduated from Brainerd High School in the class of 1937 and continued her education in nurses training. Donna began working at the Burtons family business in the 1940s as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1979. She married Allen "Steve" Stephens in 1966. The couple owned and operated Stephens Edgewater Resort in Crosslake until moving to Englewood, Florida. Following Steves death in 1993, Donna moved back to her family roots in Brainerd. Upon her return to Brainerd, she moved into Good Samaritan Society Bethany Apartments where she was the oldest and most senior resident at the time of her death. Donna enjoyed traveling as a young woman, sewing, and bowling. She was a perfectionist, independent, caregiver and always enjoyed good humor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Donna is survived by step-son, Dick Stephens; and many nieces, nephews, and distant relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen "Steve" Stephens; seven siblings: Lester, Charles "Chuck", Amos "Jay", Loretta Jane "Toot", Katherine "Midge", Minor "Bud", and Irving "Swede" Burton.
