Dorothy Blau Obituary Dorothy Blau, of Merrifield, formerly of Iowa Falls, IA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born in Rosalie, NE on February 11, 1933, to Raymond and Evelyn (Day) Berg. Dorothy was the only child of this union. On February 3, 1952, she married Kenneth Howard Blau in Sioux City, IA. They raised two children together, Shelly and Jeffrey. Dorothy and Ken sold furniture and appliances their entire lives, first at B & P Furniture in Iowa Falls and later at Montgomery Wards and Slumberland in Brainerd, MN. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Dominique Seely) Trimble Seely, of Staples; son, Jeffrey Blau, of Merrifield; grandchildren, Pamela Trimble, Brian Northway, and Cooper (Becky Stanwood) Blau; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Kenton Evans, all of Brainerd, MN; and her sisters, Maxine Kelly of Blair, NE, Starla Anderson, of Emerson, NE, and Karen Mussack, of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Evelyn; husband, Kenneth; and sister, Janice Reynolds. Her life will be celebrated at Nelson Doran Funeral Home on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Shelly Trimble-Seely (PO Box 205 Staples, MN 56479).
