Douglas Mailhot Obituary Douglas (Doug) Wayne Mailhot, 70, passed away on September 25, 2024, at Bethany Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Brainerd. Doug was born on March 1, 1954, to parents Maurice and Florence (Tollefson) Mailhot in Brainerd, MN. Doug was an avid bowler in his younger years and competed in numerous bowling tournaments. He loved to fish, hunt and go camping, and always said Lake Winnibigoshish was his favorite spot. He also loved to play cards and could be found playing cribbage at local area establishments. Doug was a graduate of Brainerd High School, class of 1972. Doug worked for Potlach right out of high school and retired from there in 2002 after 30 years. Doug is survived by his mother, Florence Mailhot, sisters Diane Mailhot and Barb Guderjohn, brother Steve Mailhot, and five children- Missy (Dan) Vogt, Jeremy Mailhot, Joshua (Candace) Mailhot, Brandon (Nicole) Mailhot, and Scott Mailhot, along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, a niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Mailhot and a granddaughter, Abbie Vogt. There will be a private ceremony for immediate family held at the graveside. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at 12 noon on Friday, October 4th at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home. Extended family and friends are welcome.
