Elizabeth Gjerde Obituary Elizabeth Raye (Larson) Gjerde, 54, of East Gull Lake, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Craguns Legacy Courses (Club House 11496 East Gull Lake Drive Brainerd, MN 56401) on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 2:00 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
In 1969, Beth was born in Duluth, the daughter of Ray and Judie (Barsness) Larson. The family moved to Spicer and Beth graduated from New London Spicer High School before attending St. Cloud State University. Dedicated to her education, Beth earned a bachelors degree in psychology and two masters degrees one in education and the other in psychology. She used her passion for helping children with special needs at the Brainerd School District for more than 23 years.
In 1997, she married Eric Gjerde and the couple was blessed with two children. Beth was the best mom committed to making sure her children knew just how much they were loved. Beth was the type of person that gave her heart and soul to everyone she held dear. Her easy smile was appreciated by many, but she held her inner circle tight. Beth was fun, spunky, and completely stubborn at times. Most of all, Beth was just one of those truly beautiful souls you feel lucky to know.
She will be missed by her husband, Eric; children, Ella and Simon; parents, Ray and Judie Larson; in-laws, Merle and Barb Gjerde; and her sister and best friend, Jeanine (Gary) Christiansen. She was preceded in death by her dear friend, Terri Close.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Babinski Foundation in Pequot Lakes or Childrens Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis.
