Elizabeth 'Betty' Harcey Obituary Elizabeth (Betty) Harcey went home to be with her loving Savior on October 29, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home.
A funeral service for Betty will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Evangelical Church in Baxter. Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Nisswa.
Betty Harcey was born on March 16, 1929, in Lake City, MN to William and Alice (Olin) Erickson. Betty married Laurel (Larry) Harcey on June 21, 1947. They farmed in Southern MN then relocated to several different locations when Larry joined the military. Larry and Betty settled in Nisswa, MN as resort owners in 1959 and she started her career in 1960 as a physical therapy assistant for the State of MN. Betty retired in 1994 after 34 years.
When Betty was not working, she stayed busy raising three children, taking care of Larrys many health needs, and serving at her church. Her main passion and priority were to serve Jesus by ministering to others at her church and community. She had the gift of teaching and loving others in Christs name.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Harcey; father and mother, three sisters, a brother and a grandson.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Thompson of Baxter, MN, Cindy (Randy) Moser of Brainerd, MN; and a son, Tim (Carol) Harcey of San Angelo, TX; grandchildren, Megan, Gina, Chad, Brett, Kurtis, Keisha and Devin; great grandchildren, Mikale, Taya, Sevien, Alli, Kolbie and Brody; and one great-great grandchild, Kennedy.
