Eugene DeBusk Obituary Eugene "Gene" George DeBusk, age 76, resident of Brainerd, died Monday, February 7, 2022. Gene was born July 8,1945 in Brainerd to George and Evelyn (Hornby) DeBusk. Gene proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Brainerd American Legion, and a life member of the Brainerd VFW Auxiliary. Gene loved to hunt with his daughter, Kari, and fish with his buddies, "Coop" and Cindy. He was involved in Fishing Has No Boundaries and the Camp Confidence Fishing Classic. His family meant the world to him, and he enjoyed spending all the time he could with them. Genes survivors include wife, Wendy; two daughters, Dena Lindquist and Kari Raasch; stepdaughter, Marla (Dale) Dillon; two sisters, Dee Maxe and Kay (Mark) Ulm; four grandchildren, Samantha, Faith, Kayla and Karter; three step grandchildren, Aryel, Brock and Devin; one great grandchild, Nevaeh; and two step great grandchildren, Andromeda and Claira. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-laws, Walter 'Tommy' Thompson, Tom Maxe; and his first wife, Darlene DeBusk. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Lakes Area Church of Christ in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to services and stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
