Florence Pickar Obituary Florence B. Pickar, 96, of Brainerd, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 06, 2020 at Birchwood Assisted Living. The family has planned a Private Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2020 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Florence was born September 21, 1924, in Dazey, ND, the daughter of Joseph B. and Helen (Heinze) Kunze. She went to support the war effort in California and met Vernon Martin. They were married and were blessed with two sons. She moved back home to Minnesota and met Henry G. Pickar. The two were married and were blessed with a daughter. Florence was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd, MN and Royalton Manor in Superior, WI. She will be missed by her sons, Vern (Kathy) Martin and Wayne (Sugar) Martin; daughter, Laurie (Steven) Kelleher; grandchildren, Ken (Leslie) Martin, Kim (Mike) Sibbert, Honey (Chad) VanderVenter, Sara (Bryan) Koop, Rebecca (Greg) Trettin, Rachel Kelleher, and Hannah (Jonathan) Lindstrom; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Delores Nogowski and Beatrice Fuchs; and brother, Jerry Kunze. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents; siblings, Alvina Knight, Helen Geiger, Sylvester Kunze, and Wilfred Kunze. Live streaming options will be available on Monday.
