Garrett J. "Gary" Kurilla, 90, of Nisswa, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Caring Hearts Senior Community in Pequot Lakes.

A longtime Brainerd Lakes Area resident, Gary was known by many as a trusted real estate professional, a licensed pilot who loved taking to the skies, and a man who generously shared his time and talents with countless local organizations. Whether volunteering in the community, helping others find the perfect home, or simply enjoying an ice cream cone whenever a Dairy Queen was nearby, Gary embraced life with enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine love for people. He leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Gary's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa.

Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, laughter, and memories during visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, and again one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday, all at the church.
