Jerry Stevens, 81, of Brainerd, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's on Friday, August 8, 2025, exactly the way he wanted, at home with his beloved wife by his side.
Born on March 27, 1944, to LeRoy and Eleanore (Janeck) Stevens, Jerry was a lifelong Brainerd resident. For 27 years, he worked as a custodian at St. Josephs Medical Center (Essentia Health). He also worked at Mills Fleet Farm and Mills GM in Baxter before retiring. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree for 39 years Council 1491 and 4th degree 37 years Assembly 549. He enjoyed spending many years volunteering for Habit for Humanity. Jerry loved spending time outside and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry leaves behind his beloved wife, Agnes, of 54 years, his three children, Colleen Cook, Cathleen Stevens and Robert (Mel Ellstrom) Stevens; grandchildren River, Amanda (Nathan), Ryan (Kilee), Randy, Indigo, Clover and Blossom and great grandchildren Ava and Amelia; in-laws Joseph (Patty) Cronin, Helen Helseth, Leonard (Yvonne) Cronin, Howard (Karen) Cronin. He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Eleanore; siblings, Jimmy (Geraldine) Stevens, Delores (Charlie) Korchari, Barb Hahnert, Donna (John) Shogren; brother-in-law, Kim Helseth; nephews Brian, Lennart, Mike and Steve; and one granddaughter, Andrea.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 5-7 pm., at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. A prayer service and Rosary will be held 6:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2025, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour before Mass at the church. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Lunch will be served following the burial at St. Francis Catholic Church Hall.
