Geraldine Badger Obituary Geraldine "Gerry" (Swearingen) Badger, 95, passed away at Harmony House of Brainerd on Saturday, July 12, 2025. A Celebration of Gerrys Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at NelsonDoran Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour before the service and to stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her four children, Ginger (Dennis) Brown, Michael (Kathy), Thomas (Irene), and Diane (Chuck) Lahman; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott) Bergeski, Jennifer (Russell) Hines, Michael, Jr. (Danette), Matthew, Thomas (Desiree), Anothony (Amanda), Joseph (Amanda) Holsapple, and Katie (Marc) Heuer, 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillian Swearingen; husband of 44 years, Connie; six half-brothers; four half-sisters; sister, Kathrine Jewell; and brother, Bill Swearingen. Gery was born March 25, 1930, to William and Lillian Swearingen in Brainerd. She graduated from Brainerd High School, then Washington High School, in 1948 and married Cornell "Connie" Badger on March 17, 1949. Gerry worked for Citizens State Bank for many years and volunteered at St. Josephs Hospital and Bethany Good Samaritan Auxiliary. She was a member of the Nisswa Women of Today and St. Francis Catholic Church. She was an avid knitter of many sweaters and afghans. She was also a great cook and baker. Gerry loved to complete crossword puzzles an activity she did each day. Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Edgewood Vista in Baxter, Harmony House, and St. Croix Hospice for the loving care given to her. We truly appreciate all of you.
