Obituary

Henry George Frasl Jr., age 84, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away on January 26, 2026, at Essentia Health – St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

Henry was born on August 4, 1941, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Henry and Selma (Sharland) Frasl. He married Marilyn Joyce Le Doux, and together they raised four children. Henry spent many years working as a crane operator at Potlatch.

Henry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he worked on aircraft engines. After his service, he was known throughout his life as a skilled mechanic who could fix just about anything. If someone needed help - whether it was a flat tire, pulling an engine or transmission, taking a fish house off the lake, or helping with a home build or remodel - Henry was always there, even at 84 years of age.

Henry loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He grew up fishing the Mississippi River, where he caught walleye - and then more walleye. He cherished sharing his knowledge and skills with his grandchildren and took great pride in teaching them what he knew. Henry also enjoyed trips to Florida, where he spent time bass fishing with his boys, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

He enjoyed trying new restaurants with Neal Wolvert and valued the friendships he built throughout his life.

Above all else, Henry loved his family. When his wife was in the nursing home, he visited her every day, a reflection of his devotion and steadfast love. He was the best dad a son, daughter, or daughter-in-law could ask for. Henry is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife.

Henry is survived by his family:

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Greg (Kathy) Kretzman, and their family: grandsons Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Abraham (Nora); granddaughter Tameaka; and great-grandchildren Jessalyn, Beckett, Katrina, Alex, Jackson, Tallen.
