Jane Elisabeth Maxwell, age 69, of Buffalo, Mn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Jane was born on August 20, 1956, to David and Joan Lofgren. She was raised in Hoffman, a small town in western Minnesota, where she learned the enduring values of faith, family, and compassion—values she carried with grace throughout her life.

Jane's greatest joy and most cherished calling was being a mother. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her two children, Jenny and Joe, nurturing them with unwavering love and support.

Jane found joy in the simple blessings of everyday life—planting flowers, tending her garden, reading, and working on word searches. Some of her most treasured moments were spent at the family lake place in Nisswa, a place close to her heart where she found peace, and the joy of gathering with loved ones. These memories will remain a lasting gift to her family.

She also shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Brownie, who was a faithful companion and brought her comfort and companionship throughout the years.

Jane is deeply loved and will be forever remembered by her children, Joe (Leana) Maxwell and Jenny (Rob) Klett; her siblings, Mary (Lon) Erickson, Sue (Brett) Oemichen, and Laurie Lofgren; along with her nieces, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Joan Lofgren.

Jane's family finds comfort in the fact she now rests in God's loving care. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and love will continue to live on in all who knew her.

The family kindly requests that memorials be directed to a local animal shelter in honor of Jane's love for animals.

The Celebration of Jane's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place after lunch at Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa.
