Jean Kruchten Obituary Jean Marie Kruchten was born June 24, 1939, to Victor and Delima (Carriere) Chounard in Concrete, North Dakota. Jean lived in Cavalier, ND and attended school there through the 8th grade.
Jean met the love of her life Michael Kruchten, I on Thanksgiving Day in 1955 and eloped to Mason City, Iowa on February 21, 1956. The couple made their home in Barrows, until the mid-60s when they moved to Little Falls where they raised two daughters and five sons prior to moving to Pillager. Later, they made their home in Fort Ripley.
Jeans primary role was raising her family and taking care of their seven children. Jean enjoyed cooking, painting ceramics, singing karaoke, dancing and gardening. Jean also worked at the Starlight Club in Baxter as a waitress, Larson Boats in the sewing and stapling departments, Country Kitchen in Baxter, the Barn in Brainerd, and Stewart Forest Products in Fort Ripley prior to retiring.
Jean is survived by her seven children: daughter, Dee (Ed) Jackson, of Texas, Bradley Kruchten, of Minneapolis, Brian (Rhonda) Kruchten, of Royalton, Bruce (Angie) Kruchten, of Baxter, William (Juile) Kruchten, of Brainerd, Debra (Ron) Stout, of Fort Ripley, and Michael (Jamie) Kruchten of Pillager, 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by husband of 67 years, Michael Kruchten; parents Victor & Delima (Carrier) Chounard; brothers, Paul Chounard and Roy Chounard; sister, Helen Kruchten; granddaughter, Leiana Kruchten; and great-grandson Loki Perry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Fort Ripley. Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to Mass at the church or on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Interment will take place at the St. Mathias Parish Cemetery.
