Jeffrey (Jeff) Steven Shanks, 64, passed away May 19, 2026, in Cook, MN. Jeffrey was born on January 22, 1962, to H. Dale and Mary (Buxton) Shanks in Brainerd, MN.

Jeffrey worked along with his dad (Dale) in the heating business, Shanks Heating. Jeff loved over the road trucking – 14 years. Truck driving was his passion. He also worked in accounting at the Grand Casino. He drove garbage truck also.

Jeff is survived by his children, Micheal (Amy) Shanks, Elizabeth Shanks, Janiann Guzman, Jeffrey Shanks; daughter-in-law, Holly (Tyler) Wekseth; grandkids, Emily, Howard, Breanna, Aliza, Easton, Natalee, Dalton and Preston; siblings, Brad (Carol) Shanks, Teresa (Marty) Olson, Jr., Cyn Shanks, Vicki (Doug) Johnson, Nancy (Dave) Mellesmoen; brother-in-law, Daniel Perrine; aunt Shirlee Shanks, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents; H. Dale and Mary (Buxton) Shanks; sister, Pamela Perrine; fiancé, Sue Evans.

Jeff will be sadly missed and remembered for his love and caring heart and kindness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00PM, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Park Methodist Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour prior.
