JoAnn Anderson Obituary In Loving Memory of JoAnn Marie Anderson October 26, 1934 December 24, 2024 JoAnn Marie Anderson, age 90, of Brainerd, Minnesota, peacefully passed away on December 24, 2024, at Bethany Good Samaritan Assisted Living Apartments, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour before the service. JoAnn will be interred at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley, where she will rest alongside her beloved husband of 69 years. Born on October 26, 1934, to Henry and Marie (Fallon) Congdon, JoAnn grew up on her familys cherished homestead east of Brainerd. After graduating from Brainerd High School, she married Norman Anderson, and together they lovingly raised four children on the very same homestead that shaped her early years. JoAnn dedicated her life to her family, embracing her roles as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and proud grandmother. She was a woman of extraordinary talent and dedication whose days were filled with gardening, canning, sewing, and cooking. Her home reflected her meticulous care, always kept in immaculate order. Known especially for her caramel rolls and perfectly crafted pickles, she delighted family and friends with her culinary skills. In addition to her devotion to her family, JoAnn enjoyed a remarkable 50-year career as an Avon Representative. Her warm personality, professionalism, and tireless work ethic garnered many lasting friendships and accolades, including recognition as a top saleswoman. JoAnns legacy of love, kindness, and resilience lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her children, Patricia Owen, Pamela (Ron) Nelson, Jeffrey (Vicki) Anderson, and Susan (Jim) Anderson; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman, her siblings: Vera Gmahl, Bernice Johnson, Earl Congdon, and Bernard Congdon, and her son-in-law Bill Owen. JoAnns family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Memories Hospice and Bethany Good Samaritan Assisted Living Apartments for their compassionate support during her final days and to Dr. Stephen Hanske for his years of trusted medical care. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find solace in the cherished memories JoAnn leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a loving matriarch, a dear friend, and a woman of unwavering faith and grace. May she rest in eternal peace.
