JoAnn Svendsen Obituary JoAnn Svendsen (Doran) of Nisswa passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2017. She was born on October 20, 1941 in Thief River Falls, MN to John and Ruby Doran. Jo married William Svendsen April 2, 1966. They lived in Nisswa their entire married life and spent their winters in South Padre, Texas. Jo taught second grade in Brainerd and then went into business with Bill operating Earl's Furniture and Jo and Bill's Gifts. She was preceded in death by her husband William, parents and grandparents. Jo is survived by sons John and Peter, grandchildren Skyler, Spencer, and Samantha, brother Rodney Doran, and sister Myrna Doran. A Celebration of JoAnn's Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd, MN
