Joanne Hershey Obituary Joanne E. Hershey, age 78, resident of Brainerd, former Cloquet resident, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul. She was born October 29, 1933 in Neenah, Wisconsin to Harry T. and Ethel (Mortensen) Boehm. Joanne married Robert Hershey June 20, 1959 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Neenah, WI. Joanne was dedicated to her family and also spent her time volunteering in many areas of the community in Cloquet and Brainerd including 14 years at the Salvation Army Food Shelf in Brainerd. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brainerd, Nisswa Women's Club and the P.E.O. Survivors include her husband Robert; children William Hershey of Scottsdale, AZ, Theodore (Teresa) Hershey of Chaska, MN, and Suzanne Hershey (John Shirley) of Nashua, NH; grandchildren Jackson and Julia Hershey and Tracy (Keith) Ergen and great grandchildren Noah and Joe; sister Jane (Harry) Johnson of Cordova, TN; 3-nephews Eric and Kyle Johnson and Bruce Boehm. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Boehm and daughter-in-law Holly Royce. Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, November 22 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the church and continue the hour before the service Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army Food Shelf and may be sent to P.O. Box 385, Brainerd, MN 56401 or taken to 208 S. 5th Street in Brainerd. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at First Lutheran Church and will continue the hour before services on Tuesday at the church.
