John Beyer Obituary JOHN F. BEYER, age 87, resident of Brainerd, MN. John was a 1941 graduate of Stillwater (MN) High School. Entered the Navy Air Corps in 1942. He flew a transport plane from San Francisco to Hawaii to Guam to Tokyo during WWII. John was a successful salesman employed by Armour, Swift and Cudahy companies over a 40 year period. He married Gloria Erickson in Brainerd June 18, 1949. They had three children and lived in Brainerd for 63 years. John was an avid golfer and along with his wife Gloria were the longtime owners of the Brainerd Golf and Country Club. Survivors include Gloria, his loving wife of 63 years, sons Steven (Melissa), David (Roxanne), sister Jane Quist, grandchildren Nicole, Zachary, Maxwell, and Matilda. His daughter Susan Beyer Christianson died earlier. Visitation will begin at 10 AM with Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, October 14, 2011 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Steve Laflamme officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Ronald McDonald House or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held the hour before services at the church on Friday.
