Joseph “Joe” Imgrund, age 86, passed away on August 1st 2026 peacefully at home with family by his side after a brief illness.

Interment for Joe will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Joe was born September 21, 1939 to John and Theo (Jarboe) Imgrund in Brainerd. He attended St. Francis Catholic School in Brainerd.

As an adult he was part owner of Imgrund Auto with his brothers, Jim and John, until they sold to Mills where he worked until retirement – totaling 63 years between the two. Joe loved bowling and going to the movies every Tuesday. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and American Legion Post #255 in Brainerd.

Joe loved having animals and enjoyed visits with family and friends with his time at the lake, going for walks and meeting guys at Hardees for breakfast and The Barn at lunch. He leaves behind his best friend and cat, Caspien.

Joe is survived by his sister, Jackie Zuhars of Burnsville; sister-in-law, Gail Imgrund of Brainerd; and also many cousins, nieces, nephews along with great and great great nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jim (Marge) Imgrund, John Imgrund, Ted Imgrund, Gerry (Ken) Holmer; his beloved pets, Sadie, Pepper, Basil, Samantha and Squeek; also his life long friend, Gladys Sykes.
