Obituary

June Elaine Ebinger died at Essentia Health – St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

June was born to Mable and William Ebinger on the family farm on the Mississippi, just north of Brainerd on June 22, 1941. She great up on the farm, attended Brainerd Public Schools, and graduated from Washington High School in 1959. After high school, June worked as a cook at several local restaurants, most notable The Log Cabin Grill in downtown Brainerd, where her roast beef sandwiches were a specialty. She continued to live at and help at the family farm, and to care for her parents as they grew older.

June was an outdoors person and loved gardening. She had beautiful flower gardens at the farm and grew all the family's vegetables as well. She particularly enjoyed berry picking trips to Canada and elsewhere with the extended family (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and close friends). She was an avid fisherman and ate what she caught. She loved animals and always had a dog and a few cats running about.

After the death of her parents, June remained on the farm, maintaining it as well as she could. Her eyesight was failing though, and eventually she could not see well enough to even drive. It was at this point two good Samaritans arrived and allowed June to remain a bit longer on her beloved farm. First, Linda Allen – June's neighbor – drove June to appointments, shopping, or wherever. When Linda moved, Judy Cruikshank took up the helm – helping June with everything she was unable to do. The family is grateful to these two ladies for stepping in and helping. When June's health reached the point where she could no longer live independently, she moved the Carefree Living Center and has been a resident there the last few years.

June was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her brothers, Ed (Brainerd), John (Brainerd), and George (Oregon); sisters-in-law, Delores and Angela; and many nieces and nephews scattered from Maine to Oregon.

June will be interred at Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Ebinger Plot in Evergreen Cemetery (use Third Avenue Gate). All are invited to say their final farewells.
