Karen Reither Obituary Karen L. Reither, 80, of Brainerd, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 20, 2025, after a most recent battle with cancer. Karen was born on December 29, 1944, in Minneapolis. She was one of 4 children born to Alvin and Eleanor (Doty) Yonke. She graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1963. She married Randall L. Reither in 1964 and went on to have 2 children. Karen worked in many roles throughout her life but finally followed her dreams and entered St. Cloud Beauty College. After graduating, she worked at a couple of different locations before starting her own business, Karens Kurls, which she operated for many years, first at the Washington Street location and then later at her home office. Karen was involved in many organizations over the years including Northern Lights Motorcycle club, Cub Scouts of America, Moose Lodge, The American Legion, Sisters in Christ, and her church. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, and spending time at the lake with family and friends. Karen is survived by her husband Randall; sons Trevor (Itta) Reither of Oak Grove, MN and Alan (Christine) Reither of Oakdale, MN; Four grandchildren, Karson Reither or Oakdale, MN, Kaitlin (Rob) Pohren of Dubuque, IA, Dalton Reither of Whittemore, IA, and Anna Reither of Ames, IA; Two great-grandchildren, Breckynn Hanson of Oakdale, MN and Maggie Pohren of Dubuque, IA; Two sisters, Violet Burtson of Coon Rapids, MN and Sandy (Jim) Cooper of Reno, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Patrick Letourneau; and brother Leroy Yonke. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 15th at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd. A visitation will be held starting at 10am.
