Lawrence Chavie Obituary It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Chavie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 29th, 2025, at 81 years old. He passed from complications of Parkinsons disease. Larry was a man of many passions and talents, always finding joy in creating and sharing with others. He was a dedicated father to his two children and a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren, whom he adored and cherished. His love for family was evident in every moment he spent with them, whether gathered around his shop, at family gatherings, or sharing smiles and stories. A true craftsman at heart, Larry found fulfillment in making things with his handswhether it was building something for his home or tinkering on his cherished hot rod vehicles. His creativity and love for working with tools extended to his many projects, big and small, always leaving behind a legacy of ingenuity and care. A passionate gun enthusiast and hunter, he often spent time at the range, finding peace and focusing on a hobby that brought him great joy. Yet, it was not only his hobbies that defined him, but his character. Larry was a mentor to so many, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer advice with patience and wisdom. His guidance was invaluable, and he was a friend to all who knew him, always willing to listen and share his wealth of knowledge and life experience. Preceded in death by parents Wilfred Chavie, Violet Chavie Aube, stepfather Fred Aube, sister Corliss Dotterweich and nephews, John Dotterweich and Alex O'Brien. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, married in 1971 Judy Chavie; his children, Jessica (Jody) Grund and Jacob (Kandi) Chavie; his eight grandchildren, Gabe, Sam, Ellory, Brooke, Lauren, Austin, Tristan and Aubrey; and countless friends and family members whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering support. Larry lived life to the fullest, and while his presence will be greatly missed, his legacy will live on in the many lives he enriched. A celebration of his life will be held in spring (to be announced at a later date).
