Leonard Earl
Wagner
Jan 29, 1939 — May 12, 2026
Leonard Wagner, age 87, died at his home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
A private family service will be held.
Lenny was born January 29, 1939 in Brainerd to Earl and Wilma (Hradsky) Wagner. Leonard was a hardworking man who dedicated 43 years of his life to Potlatch, where he built not only a career but lasting friendships and a reputation for reliability. He met the love of his life, Jo, in high school, and together they shared a lifetime of memories, especially during summers spent at Lake George. Lenny enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life and loved spending time outdoors. He was known for keeping close tabs on his children with his many phone calls, and though he could be a little crabby in his later years, those who knew him best understood the deep love behind his stubbornness. Nothing could brighten his face quite like his great-grandchild Harlow, who always had a way of making him smile. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, sharp personality, devotion to family, and the lasting impact he made on those who loved him.
He is survived by his two children, Tammy (Jim) Bursch, Todd (Connie) Wagner; grandchildren, Callie (Ian) Harrison, Megan (Andy) Zilka and Kayla (Clay) Kuhlemeyer; one great grandchild, Harlow; brother, Milton (Collette) Wagner; sister, Joann (Pat) Nelson; friend, Darren Cox. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Josephine and beloved dog, Maggie.
