Obituary

Lois M. Brandl, 99, a lifelong Brainerd resident, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in her home at Edgewood Vista in Baxter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrate Lois's beautiful life at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to Mass and stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.

Born and raised in Brainerd, Lois was the daughter of Ernest "Louie" and Margaret Rose (Johnson) Imgrund. After graduating from Washington High School, she earned her AA Degree from Brainerd Community College.

Lois met the love of her life, Bernie, on a blind date arranged by a dear friend—a match that turned into a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and devotion. Together they built a warm, bustling household and raised six children, always side by side as a team. Through life's joys and challenges, their love and faith anchored them.

A devoted wife and mother, Lois found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of family life. She took pride in creating a welcoming home, caring for her children with patience, humor, and unconditional love. When she could, she lent Bernie a hand with the books at their family business, Brandl Dental Lab.

Lois was a gentle and kind soul—steady, accepting, and full of grace. She never judged or sought to change anyone's path; she simply loved and supported those around her. Her children remember her as their safe place, their encourager, and the quiet heart of their family.

In her spare time, Lois loved to dance (even if Bernie wasn't quite Fred Astaire), bake her famous bread, and refinish old furniture into something beautiful again. Faith and family were always her cornerstones. When she couldn't be near her loved ones, she kept them close through prayer, most likely with her beloved Rosary in hand.

Lois lived her life with deep faith, quiet strength, and a heart that loved without measure.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Mark (Deb) Brandl, Kathleen (Jim) Clair, Ann Wedel, and Dr. Joseph (Monica) Brandl; her nine grandchildren; and her twenty great-grandchildren.

She was welcomed into eternal rest by her husband, Bernie; daughter, Mary; sons, Paul Timothy and John Thomas; great-granddaughter, Maddy; her parents; and siblings, Ray, Bob, Dick, Bill, and Jean.

Lois lived life well — and her warmth, wisdom, and gentle laughter will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
