Lorraine Billman Obituary Lorraine G. Billman, 94, of life-long resident of Brainerd, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, surrounded by her family. A Celebration or Lorraines Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Nelson Doran Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and to stay for a reception to follow. Lorraine was born September 16, 1928, the eldest child of Clyde and Edna (Wright) Niederer. After graduating from high school, Lorraine married Earl Billman. And though their families didnt quite live up to 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, three sisters did marry three brothers. Lorraine was a matriarch. She loved her family and cared for their every need from washing dishes and cleaning rooms to making sure they learned the fine art of fishing. She lived to fish and went every day if she could. Lorraine also liked picking berries and wild rice. She gardened until she was 92 and her canning will last her families for years to come. She also liked to play cards, especially, 500, Canasta, and penny ante poker. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 74 years, Earl; children, Wendy (Don) Matich, Mitchell Clyde (Sherri), Marshall "Marty" (Robin), and Lana (Troy) Landin; daughter-in-law, Kathy; an abundance of grandchildren (15), great-grandchildren (21) and great-great-grandchildren (7); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Earl, Jr.; parents; and siblings, Dan, Kathy, Patsy, and Betty Lou. Memorials are preferred to the family.
