Lyle Deuel Obituary Lyle Edwin Deuel, 97, of Brainerd, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. A Celebration of Lyles Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Nelson Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and stay for a luncheon to follow. Interment will at Maple Hill Cemetery in Pequot Lakes at a later date. Lyle was born February 1, 1925, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Lester and Iva (Norton) Deuel. After school and working a few different jobs, Lyle pursued his passion and opened his own mechanic shop at his home. For more than 40 years, he operated his business, specializing in hydraulics and diesel. He built snowplows. He enjoyed owning a 1934 Cadillac La Salle which was later sold to a company that used the car in a movie called, Public Enemy, starring Johnny Depp. Lyle loved Alaska and took many trips there over the years, with chose friends and family. He will be dearly missed by his sons, Steven (Becky) Deuel and Clinton (Kathy) Deuel; stepchildren, Jim (Becky Miller) Lease and Patricia (Michael) Walker; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Rudisill and Cecille "Darlene" Beckman; and brother, Virgil Deuel. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen; sons, Owen and Loren; parents, Lester and Iva; sister, Eleanor; and granddaughter, Mardie.
