Marjorie Niemi Obituary Marjorie Ruth (Freeman) Niemi, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Elmwood Samaritan House, Brainerd, Minnesota. She was born May 31, 1920 in Hibbing, Minnesota. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert E. Niemi, DDS, her parents Roy and Ethel Freeman and her cousin Lois Freeman. Marjorie is survived by her five children: Barbara Niemi (Kirk) of Falcon Heights, MN, Robert J. Niemi (Carol) of Winter Park, Florida, Martha Prusak (Thomas) of Brainerd, MN, Carol Niemi (Lynn DeKrey) of Winter Springs, Florida, and David Niemi (Margaret) of Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Mara Prusak, Allison Fong (Joe), Michael J. Prusak, Brian Niemi DeKrey, Nathan Niemi DeKrey, and Vanda Elisa Niemi. Marjorie attended Hibbing High School (graduating class of 1938), Hibbing Junior College and the University of Minnesota earning a degree in Medical Technology in 1942 Marjorie was a lifetime member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a member of the women's circle and Chapter DE, P.E.O. Sisterhood. She enjoyed family, friends, playing bridge and scrabble, and her Wednesday morning group. Spending summers at the lake and attending church services at The Chapel of the Pines was an important part of Marjorie's life. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 in the Wesley United Methodist Church, Hibbing, Minnesota. The Rev. Terry Tilton will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or the donor's choice.
